Wow, time really does fly when you’re fixing vehicles! We can not believe we are celebrating 10 amazing years of Maitland Motors this week! What started in a one-ramp unit with just Ross and his trusty toolbox has blossomed into the thriving, award-winning workshop we have today. We couldn’t have reached this milestone without our incredible customers. Your referrals and valuable feedback have been vital in helping us grow and connect with new customers. Thank you to all our loyal customers and supporters, many of whom have been with us from the very beginning—back in the day when Ross was doing “homers” on his driveway, come rain or shine!

Exciting Milestones

Over the last decade, we’ve hit some exciting milestones. From moving into larger premises and joining The DPF Doctor network to becoming a Pagid/IMI Accredited Brake Specialist Centre and being part of The Good Garage Scheme, we’ve been busy! Highlights include making it to the finals of several industry awards. One of our proudest moments was winning the Ben Top Garage Workplace and Wellbeing Award in 2024, which recognised our commitment to supporting our team in this challenging industry.

Maitland Motors in the Community

What’s more, as we’ve grown, we’ve been able to give back to our community, which is very important to us. For instance, we have sponsored a few local events, including the Burntisland Highland Games, a hole at Burntisland golf course, and a local dance squad. Additionally, our involvement in these events reflects our commitment to supporting the people and initiatives in our area.

A Secure Home for the Future

A huge milestone over the past 10 years was being able to purchase our garage building, ensuring that Maitland Motors will always have a secure home. The upgrades we’ve made have been very exciting, and our customers and visitors have been amazed by the transformation!

Growing Our Team

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming several technicians to our growing team, some of whom have moved on to new adventures. We’ve expanded from just Ross working alone to a fantastic team that includes technicians Dave and Sean, our lovely Laura in the office, Callum, our apprentice, and Chrissie, who takes care of our finances and social media.  With that being said,we would like to give a massive shoutout to all our staff, both past and present. You are the heartbeat of our workshop, and we wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you, team!

Commitment to Learning and Development

Ross and the team continue to focus on learning and development and have undertaken a range of training courses. Gaining qualifications in areas like EV, hybrids, and stop/start technology, to name a few. They’re always learning and improving to ensure we provide you with the best service possible. We take pride in being DPF specialists and are continually investing in new equipment to stay ahead in this fast-moving automotive industry.

As we gear up to celebrate our 10th birthday in 2026, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had in 2025. It’s been a year filled with growth, new experiences, and meaningful connections.

Office Glow Up 

One of our biggest highlights was the exciting move into our new office! This fresh space has not only provided us with a more efficient working environment but also features a comfortable waiting area, bringing the customer-facing part of the workshop in line with the top customer service you have all come to expect from Maitland Motors. Our staff room also had an upgrade with modern facilities, and even our toilet had a glow-up. Having a dedicated space for relaxation and rejuvenation has made a significant difference to our team’s morale and productivity.

DPF Nerworking

In addition to our office upgrade, we had the opportunity to travel to Newcastle for the DPF weekend. This event was invaluable for networking and engaging in industry discussions that keep us at the forefront of our field. It’s always inspiring to connect with peers and share insights that help drive our industry forward.

Automechanika

A key moment this year was when Ross and the team attended Automechanika, one of the largest trade shows in the industry. It was a fantastic opportunity to witness emerging trends and meet with industry leaders. During the event, Ross also had the chance to chat with Ben. As the winner of the Ben Workplace Award 2024, Ross shared the importance of putting staff first and discussed how Ben, as a charity, has helped him overcome some challenging times.
