National Finalists, Workshop Updates, and Loving Our Local Feedback!
As the autumn chill truly sets into Fife, October has flown by. We’ve been busy with heavy diagnostics, workshop gear changes, and some exciting national finalists announcements here at Maitland Motors.
Whether you’ve been following our journey online or popped into the garage on Manse Lane for a service or health check, here is a quick look back at everything that happened over the past month.
Double National Recognition: Top Garage 2026 & BEN Finalists!
*
Top Garage 2026 (4–6 Employees Category): Celebrating technical skill, high business standards, and customer care across the UK independent sector.
*
The BEN Workplace Health & Wellbeing Award: Following our previous win in 2024, this nomination means the world to us because it highlights our core belief that a great garage starts from the inside out. Looking after our hard-working and dedicated team.
Ross At The Blend
Recently, Ross had a busy weekend down at The Blend, the premier conference and networking event for independent garages.
It’s an incredible opportunity to network with the best in the industry, bring back fresh ideas to the workshop, and represent Scottish garages.
At Maitland Motors, we don’t just fix cars. We are constantly learning, sharing knowledge, and pushing ourselves to raise the bar for vehicle care in Fife. As a result, whether it’s mastering the latest diagnostic techniques or connecting with industry leaders, Ross’s dedication to technical excellence ensures your vehicle is always in the safest hands.
In the Workshop: Beating the Winter Rush
October saw a noticeable shift in the weather, which meant our diary naturally filled up fast with winter-prep jobs.
We’ve handled everything from complex heater matrix replacements (saving local drivers from one-sided freezing commutes!) to sorting out tricky diesel issues like carbon build-up and leaking injector seals on commercial vans like Ford Transits. Catching these mechanical hiccups early means our customers are heading into the colder months with fully reliable, safe vehicles.
What Our Customers Are Saying
A garage is only as good as the trust it builds with its community. That’s why we want to give a massive thank you to everyone who left us feedback and reviews through the Good Garage Scheme and Google in October.
Maintaining an incredible 99.6% customer rating on the
Good Garage Scheme is something we never take for granted.
Here are just a couple of things local drivers had to say on Google recently:
“Fair, honest and pragmatic. Helped with a few issues on older car.”
“Great price. Amazing local garage that I’ve been using for many years. Ross and his team are always on hand offering great customer service and support. Even popping in to get tyres blown up or fixing a puncture at short notice is never a problem.”
“I feel that you always get good honest service, repairs and support at Maitland Motors. It also helps that Ross and his team are really knowledgeable and friendly. I love that they send you reminders when your car is due for its annual checks. I highly recommend Maitland Motors and the Team behind the name. Thank you Ross and Team!”
“Ross and his team provide a professional service. My car was Mot’d and serviced on the save day. I feel confident using Maitland Motors, they provide an excellent service at a fair price. Thanks Ross!”
Transparency, fair pricing, and clear communication are always at the heart of everything we do. Hearing that our customers appreciate our hard work of course, is the best reward we could ask for.
Looking Ahead to November
The team is especially excited for the national finalists awards ceremony in Coventry. (Complete with Ross’s trademark kilt ready to go!). Meanwhile, our team remains fully focused on keeping your cars safe, road-ready, and performing at their absolute best.
Finally, Chrissie takes to the race track at the Silverstone Half Marathon on Sunday the 22nd. Along side racking up the miles, she is raising essential funds for our friends at the Ben automotive charity. Likewise, as she nears the end of her training plan, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on the socials.
As always, thank you for supporting local, independent garage excellence!
